BMW M 1000 XR Unveiled with 200 BHP

The M 1000 XR is the latest and most powerful crossover motorcycle from BMW Motorrad. It is based on the existing S 1000 XR but gets the German brand’s M-treatment. This means it has more power, carbon-fibre parts, and better hardware, too. Let’s take a closer look at it.
The new BMW M 1000 XR has a sleek and aerodynamic bodywork. It has a sporty front and side profile and a tall stance too. The design looks similar to that of the S 1000 XR and the front features a split LED headlight. It has a smoked visor on top, and a wide single-piece handlebar with bar-end mirrors. BMW has offered the M 1000 XR in two colours – Light White and Blackstorm Metallic.
If you choose the M Competition package, then the M 1000 XR will get M carbon wheels, M rider footrests, M rear footrests, and M GPS-Laptrigger activation code.
The new M 1000 XR is powered by a 999cc inline four-cylinder engine that produces 201bhp and 112Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and has a bi-directional quickshifter. BMW has offered a long list of electronics for the rider’s safety and convenience. The M 1000 XR comes with riding modes (Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, and Race Pro 1–3), pit lane limiter, launch control, dynamic traction control, wheelie control, ABS, slide control, dynamic brake control, shift assistant pro, automatic hill start control, and adaptive headlights, too. It has a TFT screen, USB charging port, heated grips, tyre pressure monitoring system, and an M battery too.
The M 1000 XR has 45mm USD front forks and a monoshock, both fully adjustable. The braking system consists of a twin 320mm front and 265mm single rear disc. These are fitted on 17-inch forged wheels with 120/70 front and 200/55 rear tyres.
The BMW M 1000 XR is priced at USD 29,995 (approximately Rs. 24.96 lakh, sans taxes) in the US. The bike will be launched in India, too, very soon as BMW Motorrad has already teased it here on its social media handles as well as the official website.
