Hyundai i20 Facelift Interior Tease: Launch Approaches

Hyundai is preparing to launch the facelifted version of its premium hatchback, the i20, in India soon. The company has released a teaser video that reveals some of the exterior and interior changes that the new i20 will feature. The video also hints at some of the new features that the i20 facelift will offer.
The teaser video shows the new Hyundai logo on the front grille and the tailgate of the i20 facelift. The grille has been redesigned with a honeycomb pattern and chrome accents, while the LED headlamps and tail lamps have also been tweaked with new shapes and graphics. The alloy wheels have also been updated with a new design.
The interior of the i20 facelift has also received some upgrades, such as a new upholstery with a mix of black leatherette and grey fabric with angular patterns and i20 lettering embossed in the middle. The dashboard has a piano black finish and houses a large touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The steering wheel has touch-sensitive controls and the instrument cluster has a digital display.
The teaser video also suggests that the i20 facelift will come with some new features, such as a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, cruise control, automatic climate control, and a sunroof. One of the most interesting features that the i20 facelift may offer is a dashcam, which is a first-in-segment addition for the hatchback. The dashcam may be similar to the one that is available in the Hyundai Creta SUV.
The i20 facelift is expected to retain the same engine options as the current model, which include a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, a 1.2-litre petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The transmission options may include a six-speed manual gearbox, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and an intelligent manual transmission (iMT).
The i20 facelift is likely to be launched in India in October 2023 and will compete with other premium hatchbacks such as the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz, and Honda Jazz. The price of the i20 facelift may be slightly higher than the current model, which starts from Rs 6.91 lakh (ex-showroom).
