Mahindra Achieves Record SUV Sales with 37,270 Units Sold in August 2023

Mahindra achieved a significant milestone in the Utility Vehicles segment by selling 37,270 SUVs in the domestic market alone. This remarkable figure represents a substantial 26% growth compared to the previous year. When accounting for exports, the total number of SUVs sold reached an impressive 38,164 units.

Commercial Vehicles Performance:

Domestic sales of Commercial Vehicles stood at 23,613 units, underscoring Mahindra’s multifaceted success in both the passenger and commercial vehicle segments.

Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at M&M Ltd., expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are excited to witness another record month, as we clocked our highest-ever SUV domestic sales of 37,270 in a month with a growth of 26%. We also registered an overall growth of 19% for the month of August. While demand for our key SUV brands continues to be strong, we are keeping a close watch on the availability of semiconductors and select parts for sustained and smooth scale-up.”

Exports Performance:

In the export category, Mahindra reported a total of 2,423 units sold in August 2023. Although this represents a 17% decline compared to the same period last year, Mahindra remains a significant player in the global market. Year-to-date export numbers have reached 11,897 units, reflecting a 10% decrease compared to the previous year.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s outstanding performance in August 2023, marked by record SUV sales and an overall growth of 19% in auto sales, highlights the company’s strong presence in the Indian automotive industry. The success of models like the XUV700, Thar, ScorpioN, and Bolero underscores the brand’s popularity among consumers. Despite export challenges, Mahindra’s domestic achievements demonstrate its resilience and commitment to meeting the evolving demands of the market.
