Indore Metro Trial Run in September: Route, Stations, and What to Expect

Indore, a city in Madhya Pradesh, is gearing up for the trial runs of its Metro rail operations on a 5.9-kilometer route, as per an official associated with the mass transit project. The expected commencement of the Indore Metro trial run is contingent upon the approval of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the completion of preparations, which are anticipated to be finalized around September 10th.
If all goes according to plan, the trial runs could potentially start around September 15th. According to Manish Singh, the Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, the first phase of the Indore Metro initiative is on track to be concluded by April 2024, followed by the possibility of commercial operations starting a month later.
The upcoming 5.9-kilometer Metro route is slated to encompass five stations, offering improved connectivity to the residents of Indore. Singh expressed optimism that three Metro cars would be transported to Indore from Savli, near Vadodara in Gujarat, by the first week of September. The foundation stone for the Indore Metro project, valued at Rs 7,500 crore, was laid in September 2019. This ambitious public transport endeavor aims to establish a comprehensive network spanning 31.5 kilometers in total.
