Sahara Refund Portal Launches: Complete Details on Link, Claim Process, and Beneficiaries

The Union Government has launched the CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal to help depositors of Sahara Group claim their money back. Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah inaugurated the portal in Delhi.
The portal aims to address the grievances of depositors who had invested in four cooperative societies of Sahara Group. In the initial phase, up to Rs 5,000 crore will be disbursed to depositors, with each depositor eligible to receive up to Rs 10,000. The refund process will be conducted online, and depositors need to link their Aadhaar, mobile numbers, and bank accounts to claim their refund.
The money will be deposited into the claimants’ bank accounts within 45 days. The CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal is designed to protect the interests of members of Sahara Group’s cooperative societies. The Supreme Court had ordered the transfer of Rs 5,000 crore from the ‘Sahara-SEBI Refund Account’ to the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies for the disbursement of legitimate dues to depositors.
