BTS continues to make history! Becomes 1st Korean Artist In History To Receive BRIT Awards Nomination

K-pop sensation BTS has added another feat to its long list of accolades, it became the first Korean artist to be nominated for the annual Brit Awards.
In another historical milestone, BTS has showcased their global influence once more as their nomination was announced by BRIT for the Best International Group category for their hit track ‘Dynamite’.
The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) formally introduced the nominees for this 12 months’ BRIT Awards, and BTS snagged their first-ever nomination by running for The Best International Group category.
The BRIT Awards is an annual event celebrating achievements in popular music. It is widely considered the most high-profile music awards ceremony in the United Kingdom and BTS has made history in the United Kingdom with this milestone.
This award was reinstated this 12 months after a one-year break. In 2019, the BPI removed the “International Group” category as part of their changes for the 2020 Brit Awards in the hopes of making the awards more streamlined.
Nominees along with BTS for this prestigious award are Foo Fighters, Run the Jewels, Haim, and Fontaines DC.
This year’s awards ceremony, which was postponed due to the pandemic, is scheduled to be held at the O2 Arena in London on May 11. It will be broadcast live by ITV.
Launched in 1977, the Brit Awards is a popular music award associated with the British Phonographic Industry. Prominent global artists such as Bon Jovi, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Foo fighters, Daft punk have all won this award in the past.
The renowned group BTS has won many global music awards over the past year. All thanks to the phenomenal success of its Billboard-topping hits “Dynamite” and “Life Goes On.”
BTS was also the first Korean nominee to perform at the annual Grammy Awards, held in March this year.
