As envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi, a nationwide cleanliness drive will be organised on 1st October 2023, at 10 AM, in which people will volunteer for at least one hour to clean their surroundings.

Meeting with Ministry Officials

Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Shri K Sanjay Murthy, chaired a meeting on 26th September 2023 at 06:00 PM with the officials of the Ministry to review the preparedness for the Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta initiative.

Objective

The objective of this initiative is to encourage citizens from all walks of life to actively participate in cleaning activities and contribute to maintaining cleanliness in public places such as market spaces, railway tracks, water bodies, tourist locations, religious places, etc.

Date and Time

The nationwide cleanliness drive will take place on 1st October 2023 at 10 AM. It is a call to action for citizens to dedicate at least one hour of their time towards cleaning their surroundings.

How to Participate

To participate in the cleanliness drive, individuals can join in actual cleaning activities in their local areas. Every town, gram panchayat, and all sectors of the government will be facilitating cleanliness events led by citizens. NGOs, resident welfare associations, and private organizations interested in organizing cleanliness events can also apply online on the portals of urban local bodies or district administrations.
