Rajinikanth’s latest film, “Jailer,” is proving to be a significant hit at the domestic box office, despite a slight slowdown in its pace. As of now, the movie stands at an impressive ₹291.8 crore in earnings and is expected to surpass the ₹300 crore mark before the upcoming weekend. The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is in its second week of screening and has been consistently garnering substantial numbers.The movie’s journey began on August 10 with an opening collection of ₹48.35 crore.

Its initial Sunday brought in ₹42 crore, and by the end of its first week, the film had already accumulated a remarkable ₹235.85 crore. Although the second Sunday saw a collection of ₹19.2 crore, the film’s momentum slowed down thereafter. On the second Monday, it collected ₹5.7 crore, followed by a further drop to ₹4.5 crore on the subsequent Tuesday. Despite the slight deceleration in earnings, “Jailer” continues to etch its name in box office history. The film recently achieved the remarkable feat of crossing the ₹500 crore gross mark at the global box office. This achievement makes it Rajinikanth’s second film to achieve such a milestone, the first being his 2018 film “2.0.”About the Film “Jailer”: “Jailer” revolves around the story of a retired police officer who taps into his connections with former inmates to rescue his son from the clutches of a notorious gangster.

The movie boasts an ensemble cast including Rajinikanth, Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, and Vasanth Ravi. Additionally, notable actors like Jackie Shroff, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Kishore make cameo appearances. Tamannaah Bhatia also lights up the screen with a special dance number named “Kaavaalaa,” which has become a hit on the internet.

Rajinikanth’s Recent Trip and Controversy: Rajinikanth recently returned to Chennai after embarking on a spiritual journey that took him to various religious sites in Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh. During his travels, he paid his respects at temples including the Ram Janambhoomi and Hanuman Garhi temples in Ayodhya. His wife, Latha Rajinikanth, was seen accompanying him in some photographs. Notably, he also graced the screening of “Jailer” in Lucknow.

However, Rajinikanth found himself in a minor controversy when he was photographed touching the feet of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during their meeting in Lucknow. In response to queries from the media, Rajinikanth explained that it’s his tradition to seek blessings from Yogis and Sanyasis, regardless of their age.

He clarified that his actions were in line with this practice. In summary, “Jailer” continues to make waves at the box office, steadily approaching the ₹300 crore benchmark in domestic earnings.
