Among the highly anticipated films, Nag Ashwin’s upcoming project “Kalki 2898 AD” holds a special place. This much-awaited film features the dynamic duo of Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. Recent buzz suggests that renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli is set to make a special cameo appearance in the film, sparking excitement among fans. SS Rajamouli previously made a memorable cameo in ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’, and his appearances in his own films and commercials are well-known.

Although no official confirmation has surfaced regarding Rajamouli’s cameo, the anticipation remains high. Another interesting addition to the film’s ensemble is Dulquer Salmaan, who is set to play a cameo role. While Dulquer hasn’t revealed much about his character, he hinted that it will be a visual treat envisioned by Nag Ashwin.

Scripted and directed by Nag Ashwin, acclaimed for his work in “Mahanati,” ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ was announced as part of Vyjayanthi Movies’ 50th-anniversary celebrations. This ambitious sci-fi venture boasts a staggering budget of Rs 600 crore, establishing it as the most expensive Indian movie to date. The star-studded cast includes Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, with Disha Patani playing a significant role as well. The film is being simultaneously shot in Telugu and Hindi, with the musical score by Santhosh Narayanan, cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic, and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.

Reputed for its grandeur, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is expected to be released in two parts, marking an investment in storytelling on an unprecedented scale. The film’s unveiling took place at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year, where Nag Ashwin conveyed, “While embracing Indian mythology and culture, and drawing inspiration from my South Indian and Telugu roots, as well as my admiration for Star Wars, this project is a fusion of diverse passions. It’s a creative endeavor like no other.”

The excitement surrounding “Kalki 2898 AD” continues to mount, with fans eagerly awaiting the convergence of stellar performances, visionary direction, and a narrative that pushes the boundaries of Indian cinema.
