Redmi 12 to Start at Rs 9,999: Price Leak Before August 1 Launch

Scheduled for launch on August 1 in India, Redmi is all set to introduce two new models, the Redmi 12 4G and the Redmi 12 5G. Known for providing budget-friendly yet feature-packed devices, the brand has created quite a buzz among users eagerly awaiting a 5G phone in the affordable segment. Ahead of the official launch, the prices of these upcoming devices have been leaked online, adding to the anticipation.
According to leakster Abhishek Yadav, the Redmi 12 4G will be available in two variants: one with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, and another with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The 4GB RAM variant is rumored to start at Rs 9,999. On the other hand, the Redmi 12 5G, making its global debut in India, is expected to have two storage options – 6GB and 128GB, and 8GB and 256GB. The 6GB variant is speculated to be priced at Rs 13,999.
However, enthusiasts are advised to await the official launch event on August 1 for the confirmed prices.Both models sport a glass back panel, lending them a premium appearance. The camera setup on the rear features silver metallic rims around the lenses, enhancing the overall design. Running on MIUI 14, based on Android 13, the Redmi 12 comes with exciting features such as the MIUI dialer, much to the delight of Redmi fans.
Regarding the camera specifications, the Redmi 12 boasts a 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. For selfies, there’s an 8-megapixel front camera. The device flaunts a 6.79-inch FHD display with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole notch design, accompanied by slim bezels on three sides.
The bezel at the chin is slightly wider. Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support, weighing around 198.5 grams. Users can choose from three color options: Pastel Blue, Moonshine Silver, and classic Black.The Redmi 12 5G is expected to offer similar specifications as its 4G counterpart, and it might come equipped with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, making its global debut in India.As the launch date approaches, tech enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting more details and the official prices, which will be revealed during the August 1 event.
