Twitter Challenges LinkedIn with Exciting New Addition

Social media giant Twitter is all set to venture into the job market, taking on the likes of LinkedIn and Indeed with its latest feature. Verified organizations will soon be able to tap into Twitter’s massive user base of 528 million to scout for fresh talent. The feature will allow these organizations to post job openings, showcase job listings on their company profiles, and attract top talent to fill their vacant positions.
The news of this upcoming feature was first brought to light by app researcher Nima Owji, who shared a screenshot of the proposed feature on Thursday. According to the screenshot, Twitter is positioning this feature as a free resource for verified organizations to bolster their recruitment efforts and connect with potential candidates on the platform.
Organizations with verified profiles will have the ability to highlight up to five jobs on their company profiles, providing greater visibility to potential candidates. Job listings will be prominently displayed whenever someone visits the Twitter profile of the company. Additionally, verified organizations will be equipped with a supported Application Tracking System or XML to seamlessly add job listings to Twitter within minutes.
Interestingly, Elon Musk had previously hinted at the possibility of Twitter introducing a jobs feature in a post back in May. Musk’s vision for Twitter 2.0 involves transforming the platform into an “everything app,” akin to China’s WeChat, with a wide array of functionalities, including payments, messaging, and social networking. This move towards job listings aligns with Musk’s long-term goal of creating an all-inclusive “everything app.”
Moreover, Twitter’s acquisition of job-matching tech startup Laskie in May further underlines the company’s focus on expanding its capabilities in the recruitment and talent acquisition space.
As Twitter takes strides towards becoming an all-encompassing platform, the introduction of job listings adds a new dimension to its services. By enabling verified organizations to connect with potential job seekers, Twitter seeks to strengthen its presence in the professional networking and recruitment arena.
