Dogecoin Funded "Mission To The Moon" By SpaceX

You heard it right, SpaceX is now accepting Dogecoin as payment and The Doge-1 satellite will be fully paid in cryptocurrency, will be launched to the Moon

Elon Musk’s SpaceX will launch the “DOGE-1 Mission to the Moon” in the first quarter of 2022, with the company accepting the meme-inspired cryptocurrency as payment.

DOGE-1 will fly a 40 kilogram cube satellite as a payload on a Falcon 9 rocket, meant to acquire “lunar-spatial intelligence” using onboard cameras and sensors.

Geometric Energy Corporation announced the dogecoin-funded mission earlier on Sunday. It will send and fund this  mission via Falcon 9.

Dogecoin, a cryptocurrency that started out as a meme joke and is now a somewhat more valuable meme currency. It has seen rise in its value recently.

Musk said on Twitter in April that SpaceX was going to put a “literal Dogecoin on the literal moon”. which everyone thought as April fool's joke.

''SpaceX launching satellite Doge-1 to the moon next year, Mission paid for in Doge,1st crypto in space, 1st meme in space,'' Tweeted Elon on Monday.

Though, Dogecoin lost more than a third of its price on Sunday, after Musk called it a ‘hustle’ during his guest-host spot on the “Saturday Night Live” TV show.

Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX and Tesla has been instrumental in pushing up the price of the cryptocurrency in the past few months with his tweets.
