Hemp Bracelets using Shells
BY: The News Voice
When you wander around the beach, you are automatically drawn to the seashells and it's natural to collect them for memories.
Okay, now what? It would look silly to have all the sea shells just lying around the house. Instead, use these shells as beads in the homemade hemp bracelet.
While hemp bracelets are a great idea, they aren't the only way. You can use the shells as charms in steel bracelets.
Start with the basic hemp bracelet with two strands, 1 strand double the circumference of your wrist size and a couple inches.
Fold both strings in half and create square knot with the other strand around it. This creates the four strands you need to create braid; spiral or flat.
Make sure you prepare your shells by drilling holes to draw the string through them.
If you feel only shells in your bracelet aren't enough, incorporate colorful beads to them in between shells.
While the knots are not too hard, it takes time to get the hang of it. Don't force the drill or throttle the shells while adding them to the strings, that only breaks them.
You could keep them as memoirs from special places you visit or gift them your distant friends and family!
