Mansa Musa, a 14th Century West African ruler whose immense wealth solely wrecked a nation's economy is considered the richest man of all time.

Mansa Musa's net worth was estimated to $400 billion but it is said cannot be pinned down to a particular number.

Augustus Ceaser is also considered one of the richest men of all time with an estimated net worth of $4.6 trillion.

Augustus Ceaser's wealth was said to be equivalent to one- fifth of his kingdom’s economy at a point.

Andrew Carnegie, while not as popular as Rockefeller, might be regarded as the richest American of all time.

Andrew Carnegie a Scottish immigrant, sold his company, U.S. Steel, to J.P. Morgan for $480 million in 1901 equivalent to $372 billion in 2019.
