Screen Printing at Home
BY: The News Voice
You won't think Screen painting could be this easy!!!
- a screen - photo emulsion - 150 watt lightbulb - sqeegee - printer - fabric paint - glass pieces
Choose an image you want to print and print it on a regular sized paper. Make sure the printed image is opaque and no light passes through it.
Now grab your frame, brought or homemade. Coat it with photo emulsion as instructed on the bottle. DO IT IN A DARK ROOM
To make your own frame, use any wood that is solid and flat and screw them together. Staple the silk tight enough so it is not wobbling and tape it to the frame so the ink won't leak.
Place the bulb so it shines on a black screen like blackboard. Carry the screen to this area keeping it covered. Place the cut out image IN REVERSE. Place a glass piece over and turn on the light.
After washing your screen with normal water under high pressure, ready your t-shirt you want to paint on and place the screen where you want.
Now get to painting of your chosen color and drag it over your image with your squeegee without any pressure and repeat it by applying pressure. AND DONE! DRY IT!
As you get used this, try experimenting with multi colors in the same frame.
